Quang Binh Day 1

Hello everyone, it’s me – Anna Nguyen. Today I want to share with everyone about my trip to Quang Binh. Here, we mainly visited two caves: Phong Nha and Thien Duong.

Let me tell you, I’m not rich enough to travel here. This trip is completely free. Because I participated in a charity group, after completing my work, we were invited to go on a trip as a way to rest a bit. More specifically, our charity group is mostly elderly paople, so we want to let them go to everywhere. This trip is only 3 days and 2 nights. We departed at 11am and arrived at 4pm. Because there were quite a lot of people traveling and bringing many backpacks, everyone decided to rent a 30-seat car to make it spacious and comfortable. We rented a house with extremely beautiful mountain and river views. This house has 4 rooms: 2 double rooms and 2 dorm room. After arriving, our group showered and prepared dinner. The group was full of mothers and sisters, so dinner was already taken care of. After eating, our group of young people cleaned up and washed the dishes while the adults talked and drank tea. Because the weather that day was very good, we decided to cycle around to see what the night life in Quang Binh was like. It was around 8pm but almost every house was asleep, and there weren’t many shops. I pedaled for a long time before I found a coffee shop on the sidewalk. While drinking, we chatted with caterer. We asked her something and then we found out that most of the people here work as boatmen or farmers, so there are quite a few shops and restaurants. And when I went, January was not the peak month, so the atmosphere would be sad because there were no tourists. Furthermore, because of the economic downturn from the epidemic, some shops have closed, rented or left empty. She also added that if we travel on the weekend, the atmosphere will be more fun because there will be a night market. We can enjoy food, enjoy the bustling atmosphere and buy souvenirs. After talking for a while, it was already dark so we paid and cycled back home to rest and prepare for tomorrow’s journey.

So the first day in Quang Binh is over. I will continue writing about the journey to visit two famous caves in the second sharing post. Good bye.
